INTRODUCTION
BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

It involves the application of better solutions that meet new requirements, unarticulated needs, or existing market needs. Innovation leads to the provision of new and more-effective products, processes, services, technologies, or business models that are made available to markets, governments and society. Maranville, S. (1992). Business education is a branch of education which involves the acquisition and teaching of skills relating to the operations of the business industry. Business education provide students the knowledge of the fundamentals of business practices. Business education programs consist of the basic theories of management and production. The teaching of the processes of decision making; the philosophy, theory, and psychology of management and its practical applications; business start-up and operational procedures. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
The rapid pace of development in various sectors of the economy poses great challenge to the the teaching of business education in contemporary times. While we are in the midst of a transformational age of information, many of business education curriculums is insufficient to meet the need of the times. Many institutions still use the same curriculum models used in past in the fact of new technology and global market. The problem confronting the study is to appraise the

Ho The impact of research and innovation on business education as perceived by business educators is negative.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
The study investigates the role of research and innovation in business education as perceived by business educators. It provides relevant data for the effective formulation and implementation of policies to enhance the realization of envisaged objective.
LIMITATION OF THE STUDY
The study was confronted with logistics and geographical factors.
