Borno State Scholarship is a state-sponsored program by the government of Borno state through the state’s Bursary with the aim of ensuring that young students are supported with cash to help them study at the higher institution level.

The Borno State scholarship is a government social welfare and cooperative responsibility to the hardworking indigenes of Borno state.

The program is managed by the state scholarship board. There are 26 local governments that are eligible for the scholarship program in Nigeria. The scholarship program is open to all indigenes of the state no matter where you’re residing, whether in or outside Nigeria. All you need is to be an indigene of the state.

What Are The Requirements for Borno State Scholarship Scheme

Despite the fact that the scholarship is available to all indigenes of the state, there are some significant requirements you must meet to be considered eligible for the scholarship.

Below are the requirements for the program

  • You must be an indigene of Borno state from any of the 26 local governments eligible for the program.
  • You must ensure your grades are good enough
  • As a student in any higher institution like a university, Polytechnics, or College of Education, you’re expected to have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 and must be maintained or better to keep enjoying the scholarship.
  • You must pass through the scholarship screening process where your credentials will be verified
  • You must have your first school leaving certificate (FSLC). It is mandatory
  • You must possess a certificate of origin
  • Statement of Result containing your CGPA (That is for University/Polytechnic/ College/ School of Nursing Students etc).

Step By Step Procedure To Apply For BSSB Local Scholarship

  • Create an account (Enter a valid email address)
  • An email confirmation will be sent to you to activate the account. Make sure you click the activation link
  • Start your online application by filling in all the necessary info.
  • Print out your acknowledgment letter upon completion. This letter will be needed during the physical interview.

These include all courses of study at the levels of Postgraduate: M.Sc, M.A, M.Ed, B.Sc, B.Sc Ed,

  • The under-listed programs and/or fields of study do not attract Sponsorship by the Board;
  • Remedial and IJMB
  • Pre-ND/Introductory Courses
  • Pre-NCE Courses
  • All Part-time/In-service Training, including consultancy and distance learning programs.
  • Certificate Courses (At All Levels)
  • All Undergraduate Courses in the case of Overseas
  • All Postgraduate Courses tenable in Nigeria
  • MBBS
  • Students of the College of Nursing and Midwifery
  • Students of the College of Health and Technology
  • Postgraduate Diplomas, Ph.D. programs, and non-Professional Master’s programs

  • Clearance Slip (or On-Line Print out) for the Preceding Session
